Any chance of seeing the Vienna tutorial soon? :)

  4. Ryan May 29th, 2008 at 11:28 am

Not sure about Vienna, I did really well learning it with just chords and making it sound good. It is almost impossible to teach because of that.

  5. Chris May 29th, 2008 at 8:59 pm

This is the moment i have been waiting for! Thank you Ryan!!!!!

  6. Chris May 29th, 2008 at 9:00 pm

P.S. Cant wait for Vienna! Keep up the great work!!

  7. Milton May 30th, 2008 at 8:06 am

Alright, nailed the intro, time to start the hard part :P

  8. kevin June 5th, 2008 at 5:49 pm

hey ryan i got a question. on a scale of 1-10 how difficult is this song, compared to what else is on your site and what else you play, of current stuff obviously. just curious, because the tutorial is 20 minutes long haha/

  9. Ryan June 5th, 2008 at 8:04 pm

To Kevin, the difficulty is probably a 7/10. It’s more of a long song with many different parts in piano, and I show exactly how to play it. Some other songs have a lot of parts that repeat; this has a few that repeat, but the Fray writes very complex piano parts, so it’s not typical to other songs that I teach. It will take longer to learn than other easy ones I have posted, but it really isn’t too difficult if you put the time in. :)

  10. Daniela June 5th, 2008 at 10:16 pm

I’ve only been playing for 5 months and I’ve been able to learn most of this song. :)

    Ryan,
You are the best. I’ve learned so many songs from you over the past year that I’ve been playing. Just wanted to say thanks. Its funny how our musical tastes are so similar that you pretty much give tutorials on all the songs that I want to learn. Thanks for this one especially. Its such a good song.
    - Mike

PS. Maybe you should put a “Donate” button somewhere on your site :-)

  14. Sydney June 14th, 2008 at 10:08 am

    Hey Ryan,
I just wanted to say you are best! Me and my friend started piano about 2 years ago and the first song I ever learned was “Boston” from your video.
Since then I have learned atleast 6 songs from you and they have made me 10 times a better pianist then I ever could be in 2 years.
I couldnt thank you more for all you have done for me and I hope you
    continue making incredible videos!

    Thanks so much,
    Sydney =)

(Im currently half way through this song! I have wanted to learn it since

Your selfless tutorials have helped inspire me to learn the piano. I have been playing for months and am getting better every day, and I can gladly say its because of you. I clicked a few ads to support you in hope that you will continue what you do.

I really agree with Chris, I would LOVE to learn Vienna. Ryan, if there was any way you could figure out how to teach that song I would be eternally grateful. That song says everything I’ve ever wanted to say but couldn’t, and learning how to play it would mean the world to me. But thank you for all your great tutorials =)

  31. Blake August 7th, 2008 at 10:06 am

OMG, you are the best! (^_^)! im just wondering if you could teach the song “Seasons of Love” from RENT the musical. Its very popular and its very short, so you could probably post it up quickly. Thanks for all the tutorials!

  36. Jennifer September 1st, 2008 at 12:50 pm

Hi! Is there any chance that you could make some tutorials of songs from Pride and Prejudice? (Preferably ‘Liz On Top Of The World’ and ‘The Living Sculptures of Pemberley’). yeah, i know they’re classical, but its so good and apparently its not that hard to learn, yet no one can be bothered to make a tutorial!! PLEASE! :(

  37. Lily September 7th, 2008 at 7:08 am

Ooooh, yes, please do some Pride and Prejudice stuff!!!

  38. Jonathan September 8th, 2008 at 11:02 am

  39. Amelie September 9th, 2008 at 10:49 am

  40. Sade September 30th, 2008 at 12:17 pm

    Sadé

  41. hannah October 4th, 2008 at 5:45 am

the chorus is wrong you know. you’re not supposed to repeat F, B flat and F. if you listen to the song, you can clearly hear that Isaac plays something lower. everything else seems ok,but u should re do the chorus!

  42. sandro October 6th, 2008 at 1:58 pm

thank you for posting this. i used to play the piano a long long time ago, but always wanted to start playining it again. you gave me the inspiration and the help i needed. thak you.

    best wishes for your future

    sandro

  43. James October 12th, 2008 at 5:37 am

The chorus is wrong dude. i dont mean to be ungrateful but it is. its just the bit when you repeat F, b flat and F and onwards. you can clearly hear in the song that it doesnt repeat. its something lower. i see that im not the only one that’s noticed this too.

  44. Kimmy October 26th, 2008 at 8:48 am

The chorus in this is wrong!! i completely agree with everyone else above, youre great and im grateful, but the chorus is wrong. i think its the part where you repeat F, B flat and F with your right hand. But everything else is good!

  45. Sydney October 29th, 2008 at 4:33 pm

Hmm, I really want to see that Vienna tutorial…I love that song.

  46. Kari October 29th, 2008 at 5:18 pm

just wanted to ask if you take song tutorial requests?

  47. Alexandra November 5th, 2008 at 11:52 am

I’ve just learned playing it.. after strugglin` almost a month.. Dude, that was hard! :))
Thank you so much, fortunately, there’re people out there who still appreciate nice music and care for others, like you did.
Btw, congrats for the way you play and explain what you`re playin :D
