i have really small fingers and cant reach with the left hand chords for love song, so do you have a different way to play it for little hands?

lilli , with the left hand you could alternatively just press 1 note on its own instead of 2 octaves.

thank u soo much for posting this tutorial on you tube. u have no idea of how much my friends and i have wanted to learn this song on the piano!! i have one question, though. in the tutorial, u said that that same pattern of chords is played throughout the whole song, but when listening to the radio i noticed that during the bridge(which is not always played on the radio) sara slows down the tempo and sings something like “promise me, that you’ll leave the light on” and the piano seems different. so i was just wondering if u could try and figure that out. if u did that would be awesome!!! thank you soo much

this is a tricky song and you’re right, the timing is weird. but this tutorial makes it a lot easier to learn than just by the sheets.

Sorry to say this but,your always playing something wrong with all the songs i saw on your website.Here on the song your playing your always playing the notes on a rest when your not supose to,so please look at the music sheets so you won’t get it wrong and also isn’t there more to the song?!?! you don’t just repeat the song over an over but anyways good job on everything. =D

I know that they go on in alphebatical order but I just want to know what’s the first letter on the left?
I know it goes like a pattern like this ABC ABC ABC but again, I want to know what’s the first on the key on the left.

For those of you who want to know how he does this, listen to the song then play it thing, it’s simple. It’s a talent you’re pretty much born with called playing by ear. I can play by ear, but not this good. My cousin can, and he can’t stop playing new age piano all the time! It’s like he is a piano magnet! BTW, love your tutorials! They’re the best!

Thank You so much. I decided to learn this song Aug 20, 09. So i tried but i got so frustrated i gave up and the next day i chose another song. Then my parents told me not to give up. So TODAY Aug 22. 09 I wathced your video, yes YOUR VIDEO and im learning this song!! Im actually getting the hang of it now. The only tricky part is the chords but other than that it’s pretty easy. thank you so much!!!!

Same chick that just commented, I think you talk to much instead of just telling the notes and demonstrating. You should just get to the point right away. Um, yea, I can’t really make it sound like what you or Sara Bereilles are playing. Like, tell what to play 3 times and what to play once, and details like that. Without those I can’t really follow you. I’m new at piano so it is kinda hard for me to keep up. Lately, I’ve just been writing down the notes you say to play and I play them all together and it doesn’t sound right at all. Do you think you could help me?

I haven’t played anything for about 2 years- just got away from it, but your tutorials have got me back. I learned this in about 90 minutes. It’s helpful to watch and play and go back and redo.
