I was classical guitarist for 30 years and played with several major symphony orchestras. I became disabled and had to stop but taught privately for quite a while.
Even though I would eventually teach music theory and sight reading I always did almost exactly what you do; I would teach a new student a few prices they liked just by copying what I did. I would like to make couple suggestions (of course I would like to request songs as well but that’s for another time…).
You play each section of a song before breaking it down but you never really play the whole song through either at the beginning or the end of the tutorial to show people what they should be shooting for as the final sound (without all the individual segment breaks). If you could, in future videos, just play the piece through at the beginning before breaking it down it would be a great help so people know what the finished product should sound like.
I can’t even imagine the amount of time you must put in to this work but I know you can see from the feedback you get that we all love the site and what you do. While I was a concert level classical guitarist I am a novice on the keyboard so I love your work as much as everyone else.
Something I wish you would add to your site as a whole is an “About Me” link and tell people about who you are, how old you are now and how old you were when you learned to play. How long have you taken lessons (or is this something you just discovered you could do)?
Anyway, you are great at communicating the piano and making it less “threatening” than most people think it is (especially those who suffered through lessons and gave up).
Thanks for sharing your skills and talent with us. And you know, there isn’t a single subscription site on the internet that I think is worth the money but if you had to start charging for the lessons individually or just a flat fee for access to you site as a whole, yours would be the first I thought was worth paying for.
